The mailbox yielded a particularly toothsome invitation and of course I had to glue myself together and head out to Soho…
Crosby Street Hotel…
I love finding new brands first, so getting to meet British watch sensation Henry London was a huge treat. They announced their presence with this rad London style taxi right outside of the hotel.
It’s a sweet story. The founders of the Henry London brand found a vintage watch while trendspotting on Portobello Road in Notting Hill. The watch, beautifully aged, was inscribed with ‘Henry, August 1965’. The two young designers were taken with the watches classic design that they ended up designing his and hers watches that referenced the classic age of meticulous watchmaking.
All of the collections are named after tube station stops in London.
The face of the watch features a high, double domed lens and the back of the case features the original inscription that inspired Henry London watches.
After reviewing the watches, I had to wander over to the proper English tea laid out for us. Real scones! I couldn’t resist a smoked salmon finger sandwich. So good.
These Henry London cookie were delicious!
Just before I left, I got to pick out my own watch. I went for a lovely piece from the Richmond collection with rose gold Milanese mesh bracelet. This handsome gentleman is Jamie, and he engraved the back of my watch in record time.
Even though the watches are affordable, especially for this quality, you still get a luxury presentation. A deep navy box stamped in gold opens to reveal a snowy satin interior. It’s a proper present, perfect for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, or just because.
Could you die? I love it.
